Coins and Coronavirus

The current pandemic and stay-at-home orders have created great stretches of unscheduled time for many of us. Once you’ve met your basic needs and responsibilities, it may be time to re-engage in neglected interests, reading, and hobbies.

As coin people, we at London Coin Galleries Mission Viejo have missed our day-to-day activities, and especially conversations with our clients. Your questions invite us to expand our knowledge and yours. It should come as no surprise that we learn quite a lot from you and your experiences as coin collectors.

Now open with limited hours, Monday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm, and Sunday 12pm to 4pm, we’re excited to reunite with our valued customers and the hobby that brings so many of us together: coin collecting. For seven thousand years there have been coins of some form.  There have also been other coin-like objects, including medals and tokens, that people have collected over time. Each has a special character based on the “who, what, when, and where” of its origin. Each is evidence of an economic, social or political circumstance. Good times and bad times can be artfully represented in a coin collection. As with so much of life, the more you learn, the more you want to know.

Stay tuned for more helpful blog posts and coin collecting resources on our website and stop by the store to say hi! The collecting path you begin can lead in many directions and branch to new and unexpected discoveries. We look forwarding to seeing you, answering your coin questions and helping you complete your collections. To maintain social distancing of six feet, we will monitor the number of customers in the store at one time and thank you for wearing your masks!
